Your privacy

We're a small studio, and we keep only what we need to look after your hair and your appointments. We don't sell or rent your information, and this website doesn't track you.

Who we are

What we collect, and why

• Booking. When you book, we collect your name, phone number and email so we can confirm, remind you of and, if needed, reschedule your appointment.
• A card on file. Bookings hold one credit card, charged only under our cancellation policy. The card is stored by our booking provider, Square — we never see or keep the full number.
• Client notes. In the studio we note what we did and what to remember next time: colour formulas, hair history, and anything you tell us about sensitivities or allergies. These notes are how we get your hair right, and do it safely.
• Messages. If you email, call or message us, we use what you send to reply.

We don't collect more than that, and we don't use it for anything else without asking you first.

Booking through Square

Our online booking runs on Square Appointments. When you book there, Square handles your details and payment card under its own privacy notice. Prefer not to book online? Call us and we'll book you in by phone.

This website

• No cookies, no analytics, no ads. The site doesn't set cookies, doesn't track your visits and doesn't show advertising.
• Things loaded from elsewhere. To display the site, your browser fetches some things from other services: the Archivo typeface from Google Fonts, the map on our Visit page from OpenStreetMap, and some photos and videos from image and video hosts. Those services see your IP address and browser type when they deliver them, as any web server does.
• Server logs. The servers that deliver the site may briefly log technical details, such as your IP address and browser, to keep it running and secure.
• Links out. Our Facebook and Instagram links take you to those platforms, where their own privacy policies apply.

Who we share it with

Only the services that help us run the studio — Square for bookings and payments — and only what they need to do that. We don't sell, rent or trade your information. We would disclose it only if the law required us to.

How long we keep it

We keep your contact details and client notes while you're a client, and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you come back. Ask us and we'll delete them sooner, unless we need to keep a record by law (sales records for tax, for example).

Your choices

Under Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA), you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our keeping it. Write to hello@sublimehair.ca, call us, or ask at the desk, and we'll answer within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
